Joe joined his first band at the age of 18, playing 70's rock classics and originals at pubs and clubs. With the arrival of the first child, his 70s Fender Strat went into hibernation but 30 years listening to bands like Rolling Stones, Santana and Jimmy Hendrix made him dust of those strings again.
When not busy with the StringRays, Joe is a solo or duo artist playing pubs, clubs and private functions with his favourite Maton acoustic guitar. Joe brings to the StringRays a diverse range of influences including Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Willy Nelson, John Prime and Van Morrison, just to name a few.
